Our Spring Match challenge, made possible by generous funders, including SOLV Energy and the Mead Family Foundation, exceeded the $105,000 goal, raising an additional $70,000 to erase hunger!
Love, Tito’s has a heart for community gardens and increasing access to fresh, healthy foods. Their philanthropic Love, Tito’s Block to Block program, reconnects neighborhoods and creates community gardens and farms throughout the United States. Wegmans Food Market has invested a milestone gift of $15,000 in honor of their late 2020 store grand opening in West Cary. These funds will be used to build a high tunnel structure at the Food Shuttle Farm, directly increasing crop rotation and production.
Education is a key component in the solution to hunger and the new digital education programs are a true expression of the Food Shuttle’s mission to pioneer innovative, transformative solutions designed to end hunger in our community. Concentrating on the areas of Community Health and Urban Agriculture, the Food Shuttle is expanding its reach to focus on one of the organization’s greatest strengths: education as a means of empowering people to overcome the burden of hunger.
