Now is a Great Time to Hold a Food Drive

Food drives support many of Inter-Faith Food Shuttle’s hunger relief programs. The shelf-stable items our neighbors donate are packed into Grocery Bags for Seniors, stock School Pantries, provide nutritious meals for Mobile Markets, and so much more.

You can help build up the foundation for the foods we provide to our neighbors in need by holding a food drive with your own community—and we’ll help every step of the way! You can hold a traditional food drive or a virtual one. Either way, the best place to get started is www.FoodShuttle.org/donate-food. There you’ll find an easy-to-follow toolkit with clear tips and instructions for everything you need to hold a food drive with your neighbors, co-workers, church members, family, and friends. If you decide to go the virtual route, you’ll also find instructions on setting up your donation page that’ll help your group take advantage of the Food Shuttle’s bulk purchasing power. Need help? Email FoodDrives@FoodShuttle.org with any questions.

As spring begins, we’re already starting to think about the summer, when kids will be out of school and won’t have access to school lunches and school pantries. You can help us stock up for the summer break by donating healthy snacks like granola bars, raisins, and fruit cups. We’re also always happy to receive canned protein and peanut butter. All collected items can be dropped off at:

  • 1001 Blair Drive in Raleigh, Mon – Fri, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

  • 2300 Dover Farm Road in Raleigh, Mon – Fri, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

  • 2436 S. Miami Blvd. In Durham, Mon – Thurs, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
