Double Your Impact During Our $105,000 Spring Match Challenge

Spring is finally here and everything is abloom! Beginning April 1, you’ll have the opportunity to grow your gift to Inter-Faith Food Shuttle during our Spring Match Challenge. All gifts made through May 31 will be matched up to $105,000, thanks to our generous funders, including the Mead Family Foundation and SOLV Energy. Your support will go twice as far to help us deliver groceries, hot meals, and backpacks of nutritious weekend foods to our neighbors across central North Carolina.

With high food costs impacting families daily, your support is more important than ever. In North Carolina alone, more than 1.2 million people are facing hunger, of which 1 in 6 are children. Research has shown that, while deeply needed, federal programs alone are not enough. With the end of the SNAP COVID-19 Emergency Allotments earlier this month, many families are facing even greater difficulties with meeting their food budgets.

Gladys’ church partners with the Food Shuttle to sponsor a Mobile Market, and she uses the groceries and fresh produce she receives there to take care of the nine family members in her household. She also “pays it forward” by using some of the food she receives at the Mobile Market to prepare nightly meals for many in her neighborhood who are experiencing homelessness. “The things God gives to us, we’re supposed to share with others,” Gladys says by way of explanation. In this way, Gladys provides an extension of what Inter-Faith Food Shuttle does for the community at large. “There are days that I show up in the afternoon and the people are so grateful because they thought they were going to go to sleep without eating,” says Gladys. “It’s beautiful to share with people less fortunate than yourself.”

Between April 1 and May 31, you will have a tremendous opportunity to share with your neighbors, to help build stronger families and healthier communities with your support during our Spring Match Challenge. Don’t miss this chance to double your impact at www.FoodShuttle.org/Spring23.
