Hendrick Automotive Group Prove to Be the Real Hunger Heroes

Inter-Faith Food Shuttle is so thankful for the gift of $50,000 received from Hendrick Automotive Group. The money was raised as part of their 2022 Hendrick Hunger Heroes Drive, an annual effort wherein Hendrick team members donate time, talent, and treasure to support community efforts. This year, the Food Shuttle is proud to partner with Hendrick and receive their support to help feed our neighbors in need in our community.

“More than 20 years ago, our corporate headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina, began feeding nearby communities leading up to the Thanksgiving holiday. That first year, we collected enough food to provide 50 meals. Now that we have partnered with wonderful organizations like yours,” Hendrick Automotive Group owner Rick Hendrick wrote to the Food Shuttle, “our contributions stretch much further and feed more people than we could have ever imagined.”

We were happy to welcome teammates from Hendrick Southpoint to the Child Food Hub, who stepped up to volunteer recently and packed a hefty load of Family Food Boxes for distribution at Mobile Markets in the seven counties in central NC served by the Food Shuttle. The team proudly presented the $50,000 check to Food Shuttle representatives at that time.

The partnership with Hendrick Automotive Group has proven to be a great collaboration. Their team has offered, time and again, to do anything needed to help in the effort to end hunger in our community. As Rick Hendrick put it, “Although the pandemic has changed the format of our drive, our teammates are more committed than ever to serving those facing hunger. We are truly inspired by the selfless commitment that you have shown the community during these challenging times. From our team to yours, thank you for continuing your mission of taking care of the people who need it the most.”
