#GivingTuesday: A Global Day of Generosity

The Tuesday after Thanksgiving is designated as #GivingTuesday, a global day of generosity and an opportunity for our community to come together to thank, help, give, show kindness, and share what they have with those in need. Each year, Inter-Faith Food Shuttle sets a fundraising goal for #GivingTuesday and rallies our supporters to help meet that goal in efforts to continue to feed, teach, grow, and cultivate a hunger free community for our neighbors in need. This year, our #GivingTuesday goal is $105,000. With your help, on November 29, we’re sure to meet that one-day goal and more!.

One in eight North Carolinians faces hunger on a daily basis. Of that number, 394,300 are children. But the face of hunger is changing. Many of the families who are turning to the Food Shuttle for help are doing so for the first time ever. The challenges imposed by today’s inflationary economy continue to grow and the need for our programs and services grows with them. Meanwhile, we’re facing the same increase in operating costs seen everywhere, and all indicators point to those increases continuing to rise.

The Food Shuttle remains steadfast in our mission to feed our neighbors, teach self-sufficiency, grow healthy foods, and cultivate innovative approaches to end hunger. You can be a part of that commitment and make a difference in the lives of your neighbors in need.
