Food Shuttle GivingTuesday Donations Exceed Expectations

Inter-Faith Food Shuttle wishes to express a heartfelt thanks to all its generous donors for an incredible outpouring of support on GivingTuesday, December 1, 2020. Online alone, the organization realized a truly inspiring total of over $46,000 in a single day of giving. That amount is a 130 % over GivingTuesday donations from last year.

“We were blown away by the generosity of our community on Giving Tuesday. This is yet another example of communities taking care of communities,” shares L. Ron Pringle, President & CEO of Inter-Faith Food Shuttle.

Adding even greater impact to the GivingTuesday donations, the Food Shuttle is in the midst of a gift matching opportunity, thanks to The Stewards Fund and 4 Others Foundation. These two supporters have provided funding to match all gifts made to the Food Shuttle up to $100,000 through December 31, 2020.

The Food Shuttle was joined by a number of key corporate partners— “GivingTuesday Groupies”— in spreading the mission of the Food Shuttle on Giving Tuesday. These organizations helped share the Food Shuttle’s GivingTuesday message online throughout the day, and include Cigna, Pepsi Bottling Ventures, Ligon Middle School PTA, Citrix, Highland United Methodist Church, Durham Bulls Baseball Club, St. Roch Fine Oysters + Bar, Olive + Lou, Feeding the Carolinas, GivingTuesday, NC Commission on Volunteerism and Community Service, Triangle Food Tours, Wynne Health Group, GivingTuesday RDU, Chiesi USA, and Farragut Systems.

GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. GivingTuesday is now an independent nonprofit and a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. GivingTuesday is held each year on the first Tuesday after the Thanksgiving holiday.
