BIG NEWS: The Spring Match Challenge has been been more than doubled to $125,000! Thanks to Citrix and Mead Family Foundation, all gifts made to Inter-Faith Food Shuttle between now and May 31, 2021 will be matched up $125,000. Now is the perfect time to donate and support efforts to end hunger in our community.
For an alarming number of children, springtime and the end of school means an end to regular weekday meals and the overwhelming stress of not having enough food. One in five children in North Carolina is now at risk of hunger, and that number is expected to rise by 25% or more as the COVID-19 pandemic continues.
By donating before May 31, your gifts address the issue of food insecurity among children through the Food Shuttle’s targeted programming specifically geared at getting meals to those children who need them most.
In addition to the original $50,000 of the Spring Match funded by Mead Family Foundation, Citrix has added $75,000. Mead Family Foundation has been a partner of Inter-Faith Food Shuttle for over eight years and has invested over a quarter million dollars into the Food Shuttle’s transformative mission. Mead Family Foundation seeks to empower youth to have crisis-free lives, strong families, and excellent education. Citrix has provided a signification investment in the Food Shuttle’s COVID-19 response efforts in 2020. They also selected the Food Shuttle as the recipient of their 2020 #GivingTuesdayNow Employee Charity Vote grant. Kurt Heusner, Global Vice President for the Americas Commercial & Public Sector at Citrix, is a member of the Food Shuttle’s Board of Directors.
The Food Shuttle is committed to giving every child the chance to grow up healthy and happy—providing a brighter tomorrow that starts with getting enough nourishing food today. Click here to take advantage of the Spring Match Opportunity and double your gift before May 31.
