Santa Feeds America partners with Inter-Faith Food Shuttle and World Hunger Year asking shoppers to donate food for local BackPack Buddies program

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Nov 04, 2009—Raleigh, NC

Raleigh, N.C. – CBL & Associates Properties, Inc.’s and WHY (World Hunger Year) are beginning a national Santa Feeds America campaign to provide meals for those in need in November and December. Santa Feeds America will launch locally on Friday November 6th at 7:00 pm at Triangle Town Center with the arrival of Santa, and will be collecting non-perishable food for Inter-Faith Food Shuttle’s BackPack Buddies program.

Holiday shoppers are encouraged to bring non-perishable foods for distribution to kids in some Greater Triangle schools through the BackPack Buddies program. Cherry Hill Photo is also offering a $2 discount on all Family Photo packages with Santa for anyone who brings a food donation.

“Especially during the holiday season, we want to make sure that children coming from families in need have food on the table. With 91,000 children on free or reduced lunches at schools, some might never eat on weekends or holidays,” said Jill Staton Bullard, Co-founder and Executive Director of Inter-Faith Food Shuttle. “The Santa Feeds America campaign will ensure that more kids will be fed during the holidays through our BackPack Buddies program.”
