Raleigh District Methodist Pastors Build Greenhouse for Inter-Faith Food Shuttle

Raleigh- The Inter-Faith Food Shuttle will host a meeting of pastors from the Raleigh District of the United Methodist Church on Thursday March 5, 2009.
The Pastors will help build a greenhouse for the Food Shuttle’s new Community Gardens and Farm Project. The greenhouse will be used to grow seed transplants that will be used in Community Gardens the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle will operate across the City of Raleigh.
“Our Community Gardens and Farm Project will help low-income residents gain access to fresh fruits and vegetables. The Inter-Faith Food Shuttle has always emphasized healthy, fresh foods, but Community Gardens go a step further and empower the people we have served for twenty years. We are so excited to have the Raleigh District Methodist Ministers help us with building our greenhouse, which is a crucial step in this journey,” said Jill Staton Bullard, co-founder and Executive Director.
Partial funding for the Community Gardens and Farm Project is provided by the John Rex Foundation.
The greenhouse will be located just south of Raleigh, on property donated to the Food Shuttle. Work will take place from 1-3 on Thursday, March 5, 2009.
