Inter-Faith Food Shuttle to Celebrate MLK Day of Service

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Jan 15, 2009—

Raleigh- The Inter-Faith Food Shuttle will host Martin Luther King Day of Service activities on Monday, January 19.

Volunteers are needed to package and deliver 40,000 pounds of sweet potatoes to agencies across the Triangle.

“We honor the legacy of Dr King by caring for our neighbors in need. The current economic conditions are increasing the need for food assistance across the Triangle. This distribution of healthy food can’t come at a better time for working families in our communities. We will need many volunteers to get these potatoes to people who need them” said Jill Staton Bullard, co-founder and Executive Director.

The sweet potato distribution will run from 8am – 2pm. To volunteer, please contact Emily Zartman at 919.250.0043 or email volunteer@foodshuttle.org
