August 20th, 2009

WRAL News Anchor David Crabtree and MIX 101.5 radio personality Lynda Loveland talk with a generous food drive donor at the Crossroads location in Cary.
The Food Shuttle's David Reese and MIX 101.5 radio personalities Bill Jordan and Vanna Fox encourage listeners to stop by with donations at the Crabtree Valley Mall location in Raleigh.
Every year, the Triangle's most savvy catering professionals go head-to-head in a tabletop design competition as the Triangle Chapter of the National Association of Catering Executives (NACE) hosts the Top of the Table Design Competition and Silent Auction.
NACE brings together leading industry vendors to vie for top honors and to raise funds through table sponsorships and auctioned items to benefit the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle. While enjoying drinks & heavy hors d'oeuvres provided by several of the area's leading caterers and chefs, attendees will bid on auction items and enjoy live entertainment. Tables will be judged on the best use of color and texture, best interpretation of set themes and the most original and trend-setting design. Corporate table sponsorships are available. For more information, visit Triangle NACE.
Annual Events
Blossoms of Hope http://www.tasteandblossoms.org
Each spring, the beautiful Second Empire restaurant in downtown Raleigh, hosts its annual fundraiser for the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle. The gala luncheon, Blossoms of Hope, features wines and courses created by guest chefs from noted local restaurants and is assisted by the students of our Culinary Job Training Program!
Empty Bowls Since 1990, Empty Bowls events have been held throughout the United States and the world to raise money to fight hunger. Durant Road and Ligon Middle Schools have hosted events that benefit the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle. Students integrate visual arts, cooking, public speaking, and writing skills, as well as social awareness. Participants then make a small monetary donation and receive a hearty meal served up in a hand-crafted keepsake ceramic bowl. For more information on Empty Bowls, see www.emptybowls.net .
Harvest Feast
Harvest Feast began in Charlotte in 2002 and has quickly grown into Harris Teeter's premier community building event. It is held in the Triangle each autumn. In 2005 this event was held at the RBC Center to enable us to include Wake, Durham, and Orange counties. Guests receive a free holiday meal, enjoy live music and entertainment, and kids receive a free gift. Transportation to and from selected locations is provided by buses from Capital Area Transit (CAT) and Durham Area Transit Authority (DATA). This is the perfect place for fun and fellowship for those struggling to make ends meet! To volunteer contact Emily.
Week of Giving
This is an easy chance for the public to help while shopping at the NC State Farmer Market! Our partner, and major donor, the Farmer Market, collects canned goods, fresh produce and financial support for the Food Shuttle with this holiday event.
Taste of Hope Taste of Hope Galahttp://www.tasteandblossoms.org
Each fall, this truly fabulous fundraiser benefits the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle. Taste of Hope guests experience several gourmet courses, each created by a different celebrity chef. In addition, we feature variety of fine wines, a gourmet meal, and both a live and a silent auction.
Crop Walk
Since 1947, CROP WALKs have been helping to provide tools of hope that empower people to meet their own needs.
