Hidden Hunger in America

Up to 1/5th of America's food goes to waste each year, with an estimated 130 pounds of food per person ending up in landfills. The annual value of this lost food is estimated at around $31billion. But the real story is that roughly 49 million people could have been fed by those lost resources. (USDA DAN GLICKMAN SECRETARY OF AGRICULTURE)

Hunger in America Study

The Food Shuttle regularly participates in the broadest study on domestic hunger ever undertaken. The Hunger in America study is conducted under the auspices of Feeding America, and Mathematica Policy Research, Inc. Volunteers are needed every time! To volunteer, visit out volunteer page.
